Submission Abstract
It’s believed that being too clean could be the reason for so many people having allergies and asthma. The theory is that your immune system needs to have a certain amount of bacteria in order to remain healthy. If you’re too clean, you may be susceptible to allergies and asthma.
Is being Clean makes You more Vulnerable to Viruses?
The hygiene hypothesis was first proposed by Dr. David Strachan in 1989. He theorized that children who grow up on farms where they are exposed to many different types of bacteria are less likely to develop allergies or asthma because their immune systems are better developed than those who grow up in cities and have limited contact with bacteria.
This insight has helped scientists understand why so many kids today seem to have more sensitivities than ever before. And if you think about it, this makes sense!
Antibiotics are “Anti” for a Reason
If you were born in a hospital like most of us these days, you would’ve received antibiotics at some point during your birth process and then again if you had any type of infection later on in life. Antibiotics kill not only the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria found naturally in your gut microbiome which can make it more difficult for your immune system to function properly as it’s missing some of the “bad guys” it needs to fight off other invaders!
